Harzer Wandernadel
How does the Harz hiking pin work?
With the Harzer Wandernadel, you can discover the Harz Mountains in an exciting way while collecting stamps. The path to becoming a hiking emperor takes you through various achievement badges. First, you need the official Harzer Wandernadel stamp booklet (available from the web shop or tourist information offices), where you enter your details and start your hike.
Where are the stamp boxes located?
From Bad Grund in the west to Stangerode in the east, there are 222 stamp boxes scattered throughout the Harz Mountains. The boxes are located at scenic viewpoints or other worthwhile hiking destinations. In addition to the regular stamp boxes, there are also a number of special stamps to collect for themed booklets. A complete overview of all locations can be found at harzer-wandernadel.de.
Where can I get the booklets and performance badges?
You can usually obtain all (themed) booklets and achievement badges from the Quedlinburg Information Center. The Bad Suderode Information Center provide hiking passes and hiking pins in bronze, silver, and gold. The Harz Hiking Emperor is only available from the HWN service office in Blankenburg.
