Tourist tax: (detailed information can be found here)

The World Heritage City Quedlinburg and teh district of Gernrode are state-recognised as a recreational place. The district of Bad Suderode was a state-recognised calcium spring health resort, the town also applied for the recreation place status. The World Heritage City Quedlinburg therefore charges a tourist tax for guests staying overnight in the survey area (also campers on the corresponding pitches). This is intended to cover part of their expenses for the production, acquisition, extension, improvement, renewal and maintenance of their tourism-related facilities. Although the term “tourist tax” may seem unusual for Quedlinburg, it is nevertheless legally correct. The amount is 3.00  per person and night. This tourist tax already includes the free use of all bus lines in the district of Harz. In addition, the guest receives a comprehensive “Qupon” booklet with various discounts in the city and region.
