New church Bad Suderode
Due to the economic boom, the community in Suderode grew and the old church quickly became too small. This prompted the people of Suderode to lay the foundation stone for a new church on April 2, 1877.
After a construction period of approximately 19 months, the neo-Gothic sandstone church was officially opened. The church was equipped with three bells, two of which were melted down during World War I. Only the small bell, dating from 1590, was spared. As early as 1925, two new bells were purchased, which still ring today together with the old bell.
Several valuable donations for the interior furnishings, such as the wall sconces and the baptismal font, came from residents of Suderode. The new organ was inaugurated just a few months after the opening.
